Position Summary: Performs duties to maintain a safe and secure setting for clients and staff within a residential program setting. Ensures client needs are met and program protocols are followed.
Position Description:
Lead and act as a resource for TSS II staff at site; organize shift tasks to assure most efficient use of resources and time available without compromising safety and security of clients or staffActively supervise and engage clients to create a safe and therapeutic environment, including planning, implementing and supporting therapeutic/educational activitiesUtilize approved techniques to maintain safety of clients and staff including crisis de-escalation and conflict management; be cognizant of special behavior plans for clientsPromote healthy and professional relationships with and between clients, including helping clients learn to make appropriate decisionsUtilize a trauma-informed approach when dealing with clients and familiesMaintain health and safety standards within the facilityComplete accurate and timely documentation utilizing designated softwareRespond to emergencies or incidents through approved practices and protocolsOperate vehicle to transport clients as requiredOther duties as assignedRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Effective verbal and written communication skillsIntermediate level problem-solving skills and ability to multi-taskEffective use of computer and basic data management for record keeping purposesBasic conflict resolution/crisis management skills and techniquesLearn and practice program specific principles such as Trauma Informed Care and Crisis Intervention (once trained)driving if required by programJob Requirements:
High School Graduate or High School EquivalencyAt least 21 years of age1-3 years experience in similar settingEssential Functions/Physical Demands:
Positional: Driving in accordance with job duties assigned. Occasional standing and walking. Constant sitting.Gross Mobility: Rare climbing, or crawling. Infrequent balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Frequent to constant reaching and handling.Sensory: Rare tasting/smelling. Infrequent use of color vision.
