Come join a company that strives for _Extraordinary People and Exceptional Performance_ ! **Chenega Professional & Technical Services, LLC,** a **Chenega Professional Services** ’ company, is looking for a **Therapeutics Discovery Technical Support** to support the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) to serve as a Lead Investigator and conduct basic and applied research on specified bacterial threats, in support of the BD and infectious disease program.

**Responsibilities**
+ Provide laboratory support for research efforts of the MBD in BSL-2 environment in the planning and conduct of basic and applied research on current and emerging threats. Aid in the development and execution of scientific studies, basic cell culture, 3D bioprinting, stem cell maturation, spheroid/organoid development, PCR, high-throughput screening assays and/or high-throughput sequencing on infectious agents.
+ Assist in the planning, development, execution and evaluation of high-throughput screening projects for the antibacterial, anti-viral, and anti-toxin therapeutic areas and assist in the development of novel assays/methods for various programs. This includes basic cell culture, stem cell maturation, 3D bioprinting, and spheroid/organoid development to support these efforts.
+ Assist in screening of molecular compound libraries for therapeutic efficacy to support MCM development
+ Perform both in vitro and in vivo microbiological experiments designed to evaluate therapeutic compounds for antibacterial/antiviral/antitoxin activity. In vitro assays include enzymatic assays, cell-based phenotypic and reporter assays, Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and plaque assays.
+ Perform basic and advanced molecular biology techniques such as gene cloning, gel electrophoresis (such as DNA/RNA gels and Western blots) and transcriptomics (such as 10X genomic for bulk and spatial transcriptomics)
+ Support BSL-2 mouse studies when required. Assist with inoculations of animals, collect specimens for processing, and analysis of those specimens. Analysis may include development and conduct of immunological procedures including Enzyme Linked immunoassay (ELISA), Western blot, and Mesoscale Discovery based assays.
+ Assist in the preparation of technical reports, standard operating procedures, and manuscripts relating to their research efforts.
+ Present research findings/presentations at monthly lab meetings as required and attend scientific discussion weekly meetings.
+ Present results in written and oral format publicly and internally as requested.
+ May be expected to present research findings at one scientific conference per year as needed and travel may be required.
+ Be responsible for assessing and maintaining laboratory supplies in BSL-2 laboratories.
+ Maintain an orderly laboratory environment including maintaining laboratory equipment, specimens, and reagents inventories, as well as keeping an organized, safe and professional work environment. Coordinate ordering of supplies with division staff.
+ Participate in regular laboratory decontamination and cleaning. Test emergency showers, eye washers and drainage systems.
+ Maintain laboratory records documenting sample processing, protocol design and usage, and data management.
+ Assist in training new personnel including students and other technicians as needed. May be required to cross-train and provide laboratory technical support to other areas as needed.
**Qualifications**
+ Experienced with handling both bacterial and viral pathogens for in vitro and in vivo studies.
**Estimated Salary/Wage**
USD $60,000.00/Yr. Up to USD $70,000.00/Yr.
