**Overview** The **Therapeutic Assistant II** is an experienced paraprofessional that will implement evidence-based treatment protocols in a group, dyad, and 1:1 setting under the direction of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. This staff member will interact daily with children, encourage language, social, and self-regulatory development. The incumbent will collect progress and treatment response data; organize the classroom; prepare teaching materials; and assist with parent communication and training. **Responsibilities** 1. Carry out instructional programs as outlined by the Speech-Language Pathologist. 2. Effectively implement behavior management strategies according to trained procedures. 3. Assist in data management functions to include data collection and data entry. 4. Assist in the development of therapeutic materials. 5. Prepare and lead specified activities during groups. 6. Provide for basic care needs of children during groups. 7. Clean, organize, and maintain the classroom. 8. Support planning, preparation and staffing for supplemental programming 9. Complete medical, behavioral, and other in-service training as needed. 10. Assist with training new staff members. 11. Support at least one other departmental function. **Qualifications** **EDUCATION:** + High School diploma or equivalent required. + College equivalent coursework in Communication Disorders, Education, or related field preferred. **EXPERIENCE:** 1 - 2 years of experience as a paraprofessional in an approved setting or with special needs population implementing treatment protocols is required. **QUALIFICATIONS:** + Must possess and/or maintain CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certification. **Benefits** Kennedy Krieger Institute offers excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401K with match, tuition reimbursement, free parking and child care subsidies!
