**The Opportunity**
For our **Structural** **Heart** **Division SH** we are currently looking for an ambitious and experienced professional to join our commercial team in CEE region as a **Therapy** **& Clinical Specialist** for **MitraClip** **& TriClip** . This is a field-based position requiring daily travelling across assigned area (Czech, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Romania, Hungary, with occasional support to other CEE locations).
**Main purpose of job:**
+ The Therapy Specialist (TS) has the responsibility (within region of Eastern Europe) to develop the SH products and therapy and achieve the commercial objectives by managing the Structural Heart accounts and activating the referral networks within the region.
+ The TS will be responsible for providing clinical and technical case support of the Abbott SH technologies (MitraClip and TriClip) in providing procedural coverage, the TS will train interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, cath lab staff, and ancillary personnel on the use of Structural Heart Products and provide technical support to physicians during procedures. TS will, according to therapy needs also assist in the echocardiographic screening of potential patients and instruct/train echocardiologists to provide the correct TTE and TEE images. TS will also take responsibility when additional training is needed.
+ The TS will help to recruit patients by working closely with physicians and directly working on referral sources to increase the number of cases, putting plans in place to develop the referral network within the region and grow the business.
+ At each account, the TS will be also responsible to work closely with local distributor for obtaining results from a variety o therapy stakeholders. As such, the TS will need to be extremely versatile and sensitive as to how best achieve the company's objectives within the unique multi-disciplinary environment of each account, make decisions and implement solutions accordingly.
+ The TS will be responsible for close cooperation with distributors in identifying and opening new accounts, and will support commercial management and development of these accounts.
**What You'll do:**
Proctoring:
+ Be proctor certified according to the Abbott SH training process. Provide technical and clinical support to physicians during MitraClip & TriClip procedures.
+ Demonstrate procedural steps for all involved physicians and staff at accounts.
+ Assist cathlab personnel with set-up and break-down for procedures and with product handling/inventorymanagement. Implement field-based physician and staff training programs.
Account Management and Business Development:
+ Collaborate with account to provide optimal clinical outcomes for the patients.
+ Facilitate communication among the diverse constituents (Interventionalists, Echocardiologists, sonographers, cardiac anesthesiologists, CV surgeons, cath lab management, etc.) that need to work together effectively to generate patients flow for treatment, procedure scheduling, and successful clinical outcomes. Develop account specific teaching program if needed.
+ Together with local distributor manage logistics between the site and Abbott SH, related to procedural support, inventory and PER management.
+ Identifying new business opportunities and cooperating with Accounts and Business Partners (distributors) on opening new sites, promotingTherapyDevelopment and new SH therapy portfolio in respective countries and thus meeting company business plan requirements.
+ Supporting Regional Manager on collecting data from the Accounts and Business Partners, helping with sales forecasting and business case development and presentation Support Regional Manager in commercial negotiations with Accounts and Business Partners.
Patient Recruitment and selection:
+ Proactively screening patients with echocardiologists to ensure that site personnel have the skills required to determine patient eligibility.
+ Support local distributors in work with referring physicians to present the MitraClip & TriClip technology and the study data on a regular base.
+ Organize outreach events for referring physicians: dinner presentations, CME courses, etc.
+ Optimize process regarding patient screening and procedure scheduling.
+ Keep medical team informed about patient selection criteria.
+ Share own experience with physicians in order to help them to refine their patient selection
**Required qualifications and background:**
+ University degree in life sciences related field or similar.
+ Strong clinical orientation and experience: training clinicians and providing technical assistance during procedures, including troubleshooting and echo screening (Cath lab experience desired). Clinical support/therapy specialist experience is a crucial benefit.
+ Relevant experience in a clinicalsales role in the Health Care Industry with cardiac medical devices is a benefit.
+ Experience in selling of new concepts; familiarity of echocardiography or other indirect imaging is preferred.
+ Ability to influence a variety of clinician personality types.
+ Commercial skills to achieve set sales objectives.
+ Strong analytical skills: able to identify and resolve issues and to adapt best practices across institutions.
+ Unsurpassed communication and interpersonal skills: to build relationships and obtain results.
+ Well-developed computer and presentation skills (Clinical data).
+ Ability to work in a team environment that rewards contribution.
+ Willingness to travel across the region (75% of time).
+ Ability to work in a Cath lab (in lead apron, radiation and sterile environment) at least several days per week.
+ Ability to understand the needs of an individual and adapt the teaching style to be most effective.
+ Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
+ Driving license B category.
