Thermal and Fluid Systems Engineer

**DESCRIPTION**
Key Responsibilities:
+ Investigate product, system, and technology problems related to thermal and fluid sciences.
+ Understand causal mechanisms, recommend appropriate actions, and document results with guidance from experienced team members.
+ Apply and support the improvement of processes such as Pre Program Planning (PPP), Product Preceding Technology (PPT), Value Package Introduction (VPI), and Value Package Change (VPC).
+ Utilize tools related to thermal and fluid sciences, including GT-Suite, Boost, Fluent, Converge, Concerto, CyberApps, Cummins Data Analysis Tool (CDAT), Mach, test data calculation, DARTS, test data storage, Calterm, ECM calibration tool, Emissions data system, Integrity, and ACCEPTS ECM in-loop test bench.
+ Obtain input and negotiate with stakeholders to support project decisions and provide input for further analysis, design optimization, feasibility studies, or architecture definition.
+ Make decisions on day-to-day project details, such as conducting analysis, testing, and communication with stakeholders.
+ Own problem resolution for moderately complex components, products, systems, subsystems, or services.
+ Provide independent execution of established work processes and systems while developing technology or product knowledge.
+ Contribute effectively toward team goals and exhibit influence within a work group.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an appropriate STEM field is required.
+ A Master's degree relevant to this discipline may be required for select roles.
+ This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Skills:**
+ Proficiency in the 3-step tuning process for E, D, L reviews in international forums.
+ Field data analysis and interpretation.
+ Understanding of engine and after-treatment system interaction.
+ CSAR simulation skill / CROSS development.
+ Knowledge of key diagnostic tools: Cap GUI, DDT, CDT, MIL decision tree, FSC, etc.
+ Competency in Matlab and Simulink.
+ OBD testing and validation.
**Experience:**
+ Entry-level/early career professional.
+ Preferred candidates have relevant experience in temporary student employment (intern, co-op, or extracurricular team activities) or as an early career professional in a relevant technical discipline.
+ Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.
