Job Purpose:

Working as part of the Engineering Department with the customer as the Operations Department, the Thermal Equipment Specialist role is to develop CML Composites thermal processing, increasing efficiency and introducing new equipment. The ideal candidate will have a background in Autoclave processing with a high level of organisation and computer literacy. Key responsibilities shall include, identifying opportunities to increase the number of components in an Autoclave cycle, conducting Thermal Calibrations, conducting Thermal Unitformity Surveys, identify and deploy Total Preventative Maintenance initiatives, identifying and reporting OEE, working with the operations team to ensure the shop floor planning aligns with Autoclave Cure Cycle limitations.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct Thermal Uniformity Surveys & Tooling Thermal Calibrations

Identify and deploy efficiency opportunities to increase parts count per cure

Specify and act as PM for a new Autoclave

Support the Operations team in planning for Autoclave cycles

Train Autoclave operators on best practice

Report OEE and identify improvements

Develop TPM, including condition monitoring equipment

To support the Engineering department in various other tasks

Manufacturing Engineering is a support activity to production operations, this role will be a mix of office and shopfloor based.

Works effectively as part of a team or using own initiative in a busy manufacturing environment.

Actively engages in discussions and openly supports team decisions.

Qualifications & Experience:

Experience in running and programming Autoclaves - Essential

Experience in Aerospace or other regulated Engineering environment - Desirable

Experience with continuous improvement techniques - Desirable

Computer literate (MS Office proficient) - Essential
