**Scope of Position:**
Summer 2025 Intern position working independently and in cross functional teams, participates in the design, engineering, procurement, installation, start up, commissioning and handover of mechanical systems such as:
+ Batch Delivery Systems
+ Melting Systems
+ Thermal Process Services
+ Thermal Equipment Design
**Role within group:**
The successful incumbent can be expected to fill the following roles:

**Day-to-Day Responsibilities:**
On a daily basis the incumbent in this position will be expected to:
+ Create or document design basis requirements
+ Design mechanical components and assemblies
+ Manage project documentation
+ Specify or otherwise identify commercially available equipment/system components
**Education & Experience:**
+ Minimum of 2+ years working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering. Preference is for students who will have completed their 3rd year of a BS level college engineering program prior to starting the internship and will be graduating within 12 months of finishing the internship.
+ Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2025 (May-August 2025) with a graduation date of December 2025 or later
+ Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.
+ Be willing to work at the posted job location

+ Prior Industrial or Intern experience
+ Demonstrated Project Management experience
+ Computer (Microsoft Office) experience
+ CAD (Solidworks) experience
+ Computer modeling (COMSOL or Goma) experience
+ Maturity, common sense and practicality
+ Organized and methodical
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Ability to interact and work with others in a team environment across work groups, payrolls and cultures

The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
