In Finland Grid Solutions is engineering and manufacturing systems for electrical substations. Our FACTS Product Delivery Group (PDG) in Tampere delivers reactive power compensators such as Static Synchronous Compensators (STATCOM), Static Var Compensators (SVC) and STATCOM with energy storage (FACTS FLEX). These are used to control power system voltage and reactive power flow as well as to improve the power system stability and transmission system efficiency. STATCOMs and SVCs are also typically used to improve the integration of renewables to the power system making the future power system more sustainable. Our business is growing rapidly and 95% of the systems manufactured in Tampere are exported globally.
