Third Party Software Manager

We are looking for a Third Party Software Manager who will be responsible to ensure that Third Party Software (open source software and proprietary software) is used in accordance with their license conditions and obligations within their organizational unit. The role has the responsibility to implement required measures (processes, tools, trainings) to enable license compliant usage of these components during the development process for products and routing escalations appropriately.
Your responsibilities
In this role, you are responsible to Work with business line project teams to ensure compliance with all software license agreements and copyright law during product development. For proprietary software, ensure commercial licenses cover the product/solution lifecycle.Support architects of all business line projects during the planning of the 3rd party software relevant activities.Delegate 3rd party component license clearing and source code snippet identification requests to clearing team, and track to completion in time for project milestones.Compile and manage all relevant documentation (clearing reports, product documentation).Approve all product clearings for the business line, ensuring application of company and business line specific guidelines for 3rd party software.Evaluate effectiveness of remediation activities and initiate process improvements based on lessons learned.Support in the identification and improvement of clearing tools that support license compliant development. Review/design internal trainings if required.Involve in election and approval of suppliers and 3rd party components as required. Work with procurement team in negotiating license reductions/increases based on usage.Participate in internal and external 3rd party software communities to gain knowledge of software compliance requirements, standards and trends and exchange best practices. Raise awareness for 3rd party software topics within the business line. Be the main point of contact within the business line for information regarding 3rd party software usage. Support the business lines in case of internal and external auditsYour qualification
To be successful in this role, your profile includes:Graduation or Post Graduation in Computer Science / Information Technology / Medical or Life Sciences.8-10 years of experience specializing in 3rd party software license obligation and handling practices. Experience in R&D organizations is preferred.Excellent understanding of standards and guidelines for license compliance, license trends and implications.Experience using 3rd party software license compliance tools such as FOSSology / FOSSologyNG / Blackduck Protex / FOSSID / Palamida etc. and in evaluation of such tools.Expertise in MS Office, Adobe documentation tools.Knowledge of software development life cycle and software engineering processes.Demonstrated ability working with multi-cultural teams and various internal (R&D, legal, procurement, export control and customs) and external stakeholders globally.Experience participating in global open source community activities and conferences is beneficial.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, business fluency in English.Proven coordination & influencing skills, and ability to lead without authority. Should have a biastowards action.Able to multi-task, work under pressure and manage multiple project activities and responsibilities effectively.Should be self-motivated and assertive
