Job Description

The PDT Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) is a field-based marketing, non-sales, position that serves as the key enabler that fosters meaningful engagement between Takeda and neuromuscular Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in ways that:

Build trust and facilitate consultative relationships with KOLsAllow for gathering of meaningful insightsInform and advance marketing strategic initiativesDemonstrates Takeda’s commitment to the Neuromuscular space


This role supports chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) brand strategy. TLLs must demonstrate a high level of clinical knowledge and emotional intelligence. Interactions are always within label and consistent with compliance, legal and regulatory guidelines. TLLs liaise between field and home office based colleagues and KOLs to seek to understand the neuromuscular therapeutic area, create a collaborative environment of translating insights, and generate a symbiotic platform for marketing strategies.

The TLL-South position covers the South region which includes Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, and western Florida panhandle. Candidate must reside within the geographic area of the assigned territory.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:  

KOL Engagement & Management

Establish/reinforce Takeda with the neuromuscular communityDevelop a KOL engagement strategy by identifying, profiling, cultivating and maintaining long-term relationships with neuromuscular KOLsDevelop and execute an engagement plan for top KOLs in the regionFacilitate executive and/or internal engagements with TakedaDetermine strategically aligned opportunities for partnership between KOLs and Takeda

Market Insights

Seek to understand KOL perspectives on Takeda and neuromuscular competitive landscape through interactions and presence at regional and national congressesCollate & synthesize insights, identify trends, gaps, product & disease educational needs to support overall brand strategyInform strategic decisions with the brand teamWork with targeted KOLs to obtain feedback on brand-related marketing strategies/materialsParticipate as member of cross-functional brand team to provide feedback on strategy and tactical execution and novel programming ideas and conceptsPartner on the facilitation and cross-functional planning, recruitment, and execution of regional and national advisory boards, capturing feedback to inform brand strategy and decisionsProvide competitive intelligence gained through interactions to help shape strategy

Speaker Bureau and Contracted Activities

Selection of KOLs/speakers for peer-to-peer programs, symposia, product theaters, training, and other contracted activitiesAssisting with on-label training and development of speakers, consultants, and advisors with approved decks and materialsAttend programming to observe, coach, and develop the speaker where necessary to ensure compliant and effective execution of peer to peer speaker programs and contracted activitiesPartner with brand team on new content creation and content updates, as well as new and innovative programing ideasPartner with brand and franchise marketing, professional engagements, ethics & compliance, and agency partners on the execution of peer to peer and contracted activitiesAdvocate on behalf of speakers and KOLs, and share feedback internally to continually improve process and experiences

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: 

Basic Requirements

7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industryKOL/Thought Leader management experienceNeuromuscular experience (specifically CIDP), plasma derived therapies experience, or rare disease experience

Preferred Requirements

Nursing/PharmDInfusion experience10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry10+ years Insights experienceProfessional experience in one or more of the following: clinical education, thought leader management, marketing or clinical experience in the same or related therapeutic area (CIDP), experience in creating or executing marketing strategies, plans and tactics

Significant travel including up to 75% of any month, including evenings and weekendsReside within the geographic area of the assigned territory

USA - TX - Virtual

U.S. Base Salary Range:

133,000.00 - 209,000.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
