Threat Context Analyst (Korea)

The Microsoft Threat Analysis Center (MTAC) is looking for a Threat Context Analyst (Korea) with proficiency in the Korean language and experience in cyber and cyber-enabled influence operations in the Asia-Pacific region in general and the Korean Peninsula in particular. The analyst will leverage their language skills and geopolitical knowledge to develop assessments about how cyber and influence operations fit into the regional security landscape. They will contribute to MTAC’s mission to detect, assess, and disrupt digital threats to Microsoft, its customers, and democracies worldwide. MTAC is part of the Customer Security & Trust (CST) organization within Microsoft’s Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs (CELA) group.

In this role, the analyst will leverage Korean language and regional, cultural, and geopolitical knowledge to develop assessments and further attribution of nation-state influence and cyber operations in the Asia Pacific region. This will require analyzing Korean-language press and social media content quickly and efficiently to capture relevant findings, as well as synthesizing data/intelligence from cross company sources to draw conclusions about cyber threats. The analyst will work collaboratively with MTAC’s broader Asia-Pacific team to analyze threats to the Korean peninsula from nation state actors. They will also write and brief on a broader set of analytic findings, integrating open-source information with data from Microsoft’s telemetry for executive audiences and customers and occasionally write for public audiences.
