Physical Demands & Work Environment:·       Required to drive, stand, walk, use hands to type, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, talk, and hear; body motions and movements include bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, pulling, kneeling, lifting, carrying, and pushing·       Lifting and/or moving up to thirty-five pounds regularly on average, and up to seventy-five pounds on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodation·       This job is located in Florida, with exposure to intense sun, intense heat, humidity, rain, thunderstorms, and other adverse weather conditions·       Job site conditions may or may not be accessible by vehicle and can include wetlands, swamps, grasslands, and fields with uneven surfaces, sand, brush, and other natural and man-made obstacles. ·       This job is primarily and regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and construction sites where the noise level is usually moderate to loudRequired Qualifications:Ensures that all testing equipment used is functioning properly, maintained as required by company and/or manufacturer's policy, and that all calibrated equipment is within its calibration cycleEnsures that project testing requirements are met and compliant with project specifications, requirements, and company policies or proceduresPerforms Structural Building Inspection duties (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing as licensed). Inspect commercial and residential buildings, which are under construction or are being repaired, remodeled, or enlarged, and is performed during various stages of completion to ensure structural integrity and compliance with building codes/ordinances Determines whether changes may be required in plans and makes recommendations to contractors, engineers, architects, etc.Performs inspections of foundations, concrete slabs, framing, roofing, and related construction workMaintains accurate, complete, and current inspection recordsExercises tact and courtesy when conducting inspections and dealing with clientsPrepares reports and reports data in a complete, timely, and understandable fashion and returns as required to a branch office.  Complete daily time and labor reports in accordance with company policyOversees the maintenance of company vehicle (take in to shop for routine maintenance including oil changes, tire pressure, fluid levels, etc)  Cellular phones are to be worn at all times and calls are to be returned immediatelyEnsures that project requirements are met and compliant with inspection specifications, requirements, and company policies or proceduresAttends all department meetingsDrives to various job sites at locations both locally and throughout the State of Florida. Follow all Driving Laws when driving a company vehicleWorks varying shift schedules as neededMust be willing to travel within the state of Florida, if applicableCompletes daily time and labor reports in accordance with company policyTurns in required paperwork dailyRegular attendance is requiredRequired Qualifications:Licensed Building Inspector or ICC certificationValid Florida Driver’s License with acceptable driving record (in accordance with our Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Record Check Criteria)Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Florida’s Jessica Lunsford Act (or equivalent state classification)State of Florida Standard Building Inspector License is requiredAbility to read & write, including interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as the ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers/clientsComputer skills sufficient to operate a laptop, including sending and receiving emails, and the ability to learn Field Data Collection (FDC)/Inspector Gadget to input data and prepare reportsMathematical skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Civil EngineeringICC CertificationsEI or PEQualifications for Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, commercial building, and/or 1 + 2 Family dwelling
