4 Year Degree The University of Iowa Department of Athletics seeks applications for an TICKET OFFICE INTERN. This is a full-time (at-will and FLSA-non-exempt) position. Fringe benefits are not included. Salary is set at $16.00 an hour. The University of Iowa is an NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Department of Athletics manages 22 varsity sports programs and related events with a workforce of approximately 205 regular employees and 300 temporary employees. Responsibilities: • Supervise student staff • Test all ticket office windows prior to all home events (test printers, computers, ticket stock, all IT equipment) • Assist in day-to-day operations of the ticket office • Responsible for scheduling student staff for game days for all ticketed sports • Assist with any game day events as needed throughout the fall/winter/spring sports. • Handle any customer service issues on game days and over the phone. • Confirm all student batches are closed out correctly and/or handle any discrepancies • Provide manage level support for all phases of the ticket office in the absence of the ticket managers. • Set a good example to all student staff in providing good customer service to all fans • Responsible for updating Microsoft teams in order to keep all student staff informed • Creating Seller Sheets for all ticket staff • Other duties as assigned by ticket manager

Required qualifications:  

Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in athletic administration, marketing, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Ability to work constructively and collaboratively in a diverse environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships; Working knowledge of and ability to:
Utilize basic office support software (word processing, email, presentation software and spreadsheets)  Operate effectively within a highly regulated team environment. Ability to work 40 hours per week which may include evening, weekend, and holiday hours. 

Desired qualifications:

Customer Service Experience Knowledge of Sports Familiarity with Microsoft Teams Ability to use Microsoft Excel Familiarity of Paciolan Ticketing Software
