Manager, Go-To-Market & Strategic Planning – Timberland Americas

What will you do?

A day in the life of a Manager, Go-To-Market (GTM) and Strategic Planning at Timberland looks a little like this.

The Manager of GTM & Strategic Planning is a key role in the curation and execution of our brand strategy within the Americas region.  In partnership with the Brand Leadership team, you’ll facilitate the annual and seasonal processes that fuel the business.  You will lead key stakeholders through the collection of insights and data that feed into the Go to Market (GTM) process.  Everything we do at Timberland revolves around one thing: our Consumer.  To better serve that Consumer, we start with the data.  In this role, you will be the master of both.  You will report to the Senior Director, Business Planning (Timberland PRO) with a dotted line to the Senior Director, Business Planning (Timberland Tree).

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

Maintain and evolve the existing Go-To-Market processes based on current market and strategic needs, including process mapping, reevaluating roles and responsibilities and collaborating with key GTM stakeholders to implement change.Partner with Product, Sales, Marketing, Planning, Sales Ops, DTC, and Digital teams to lead and drive the end-to-end GTM processes for multiple seasons across channels and regions.  Support brand leadership to ensure collaboration across functions.Provide and design the market and consumer insights necessary to better inform GTM strategy.  Identify opportunities to reduce complexity and drive overall brand positioning in the marketplace in the regional GTM processes.  Work closely with brand and regional GTM counterparts to ensure needs are considered in the global process and calendar.Define and drive a clear governance structure to support the GTM process across all levels of the organization.  Drive and engage in dialogue and challenge cross-functional working groups, to promote collaboration and alignment on the execution of GTM plans, commitments, and the tracking of GTM decisions and follow ups.Take charge and evolve Timberland PRO’s existing consumer tracker process and data set.  Develop and share out key reporting and insights with leadership and product teams.Develop and implement custom quantitative and qualitative research to best inform the business or key initiatives.  Determine the best path to translate the results not just in reporting, but in execution.Research global jobs data, Purchasing Manager’s Index (PMI) info and industry data to best understand where the consumer will be going to work.Drive collaboration efforts with the Global Timberland Consumer Insights (CI) and strategy teams, providing regional inputs and data to inform global brand strategy development.Act as the voice of the consumer to ensure its presence in the GTM process and decision making of the consumer and market to ensure learnings are embedded in decision making.Facilitate Timberland PRO Brand Strategy meetings and implementation, develop seasonal execution plans for all departments and at all levels, including tracking and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs).Support Timberland Americas General Manager and the senior leadership team to define and cascade our regional strategies in alignment with global priorities through the OGSTM framework.

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day.  For this role, there are foundational skills you’ll need to succeed and excel.  Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 5+ years of experience and professional achievements. 

The foundational skills you will need in this position are:

Exceptional process and project management skills, with the ability to scope projects and tasks, and establish realistic objectives and deadlines Strong peer relationship skills – ability to foster collaboration, achieve consensus within a group, and drive internal and external relationships The ability to prioritize, work under pressure with multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines with quality deliverables Ability to collect, analyze and present data and insights in a clear and concise manner Software skills:  high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint), Power BI and Business Objects a plus Strong verbal and written communication skills in English 

There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.

Experience with working with self-serve research platforms/dashboards Business acumen i  e  , is aware and understand how strategies and tactics work in the marketplace)Ability to translate, cascade and execute business strategy and vision

Hiring Range:

$84,000.00 USD - $105,000.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
