Tire Tech and Material Handler

A Tire Tech and Material Handler at FCA Transport will be responsible for all aspects of tire repair and related services including material handling.

 

Changing, mounting, balancing, rotating, and repairing semi-tractor trailer tires Determine repairable tire conditions and make such repairs. Inflation of tire to prescribed psi per load requirements. Clean and maintain service equipment. Safely drive a hi-lo Load and unload trailers Move stock, parts, equipment, etc. Wash tractors and trailers Handle scrap and materials for recycling or placement in the gondolas Perform service calls in all-weather conditions. The qualified individual must be willing and able to drive a service vehicle to where a driver or trailer is having a problem and be able to repair or replace tire(s) as needed. Job duties may be performed at a Stellantis facility, or at other non-Stellantis locations including on side of highways. This position operates in all types of indoor and outdoor work environments, therefore exposure to heat and cold is to be expected.

Basic Requirements:

Must be able to obtain a PIV license. Must have a chauffeur license endorsement. Must be able to maintain a valid DOT medical card. Able to lift/move tractor/trailer tires as needed with lift assists. Must be willing to follow all safety procedures and work in a safe manner. Must be able to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment as part of a team. Must be a self-starter and willing to take the initiative, able and willing to work without direct supervision. Must possess a mechanical aptitude. At least one year of relevant service experience Demonstrated past problem solving, tool usage, and repair experience required.

 

Preferred Requirements:

1-2 years of automotive or diesel experience or education
