Tissue Bank Technician
The University of Miami/UHealth department of Neurology has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time TEMPORARY/Per Diem, Tissue Bank Technician to work at UHealth medical campus. The Tissue Technician supports the Brain Bank’s Post Mortem Team in the recovery of tissues for research. Responsible for complying with all quality assurance requirements of the Brain Bank as mandated in its protocols, best practices guidelines, and biorepository industry standards.
+ Required to take Recovery on-call duties, on a rotating basis, as assigned by Management.
+ Pre-case preparation of recovery and processing areas following pertinent SOPs and protocols, to include all equipment and supplies
+ Recovery of brain tissue and associated tissue samples in the manner outlined in all pertinent SOPs and protocols
+ Responsible for the post-recovery/post-processing clean up and disinfection of the recovery/processing area and equipment
+ Responsible for completion of required case paperwork
+ Familiarity and knowledge of information contained in the Brain Bank SOPs
+ Remain current on all UM mandatory training as well as departmental training
+ Attend all required departmental meetings, conferences and training groups
+ Will be required to perform any other task or function within the department on an as-needed or emergency basis, and as assigned by Management.

Core Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

+ Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
+ Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
+ Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
