The Tissue Processing Technician will be responsible for performing tissue processing activities in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), accurately processing tissue products to the required specifications within expected processing times into meet production schedules. This individual will be required to store and move tissue in appropriate locations before, during and after the tissue has been processed as well as properly disposing hazardous and non-hazardous waste in accordance with the applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
This role is for a 2nd Shift (2:30pm - 11pm) Saturday to Wednesday
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare and process allograft tissue that is used for surgical implantation
· Use aseptic technique, machinery, instrumentation, and equipment to evaluate,
· Cut, shape and package implantable grafts that meets specification
· Accurately complete paperwork and perform data entry where required
· Preform scheduled cleaning of clean rooms per SOP
· Perform lab support functions such as, set-up and breakdown of clean rooms,
· In some cases, properly clean instruments per SOP and handling of donor tissues
· Prepare grafts to be sent for sterilization and received them back in with required paperwork
· Performs any other related duties as required
Qualifications (Required skills and Knowledge)
· High School diploma or equivalent
· Surgical Technologist / Sterile Processing Certification or Bachelor degree of Science
· Knowledge of sterile technique / aseptic processing
· Ability to work with minimal supervision
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Basic computer skills for email and data entry
· Must read, write, and speak in English, and communicate clearly and concisely
· Able to participate in a team-oriented environment, willingness to assist and train others
· Ability to gown to ISO Class 5 and 7 Clean Room standards
