The Headlines

Reporting to the Sr Manager, Forecasting & Demand Planning, and based in our Montreal offices, your main challenge will be to assist the team in demand planning for a portfolio of approximately 300 different products, grouped in 13 warehouses and centers distribution, all in a context of very volatile demand (seasonal variations) and within tight deadlines (products with a limited lifespan).

 

 

This is what you will do:

In this capacity, you will be responsible for gathering, understanding, validating and analyzing data relating to sales planning and forecasting (volume needs and others), in order to ensure production planning that is precise and in line with the business strategies. You will rigorously manage data integrity and updating of various files and databases.

In addition, you will also provide support to account directors and regional sales directors with regard to the validation of forecasts.

More specifically, you will be responsible for:

• Establish consensus on forecasts by facilitating the reconciliation of results from the Sales, Marketing, Customer Marketing, Major Accounts and statistical modeling sectors;

• Ensure that the consensus regarding forecasts logically reflects Marketing and Sales approaches for the next 18 months;

• Analyze the causes of forecast errors and other parameters in order to recognize the quantitative and qualitative factors (processes) which gave rise to forecast errors;

• Organize and document forecast assumptions (prices, promotions, product placement and new product development);

•  Conducting advanced data analysis to identify demand patterns and variances and improving forecast accuracy and reducing inventory obsolescence;

• Make and communicate the necessary forecast modifications in the demand planning system;

•  Leading the resolution of demand-related issues with cross-functional teams;

• Presenting forecast and inventory metrics to management;

• Provide support during the annual planning process.

 

If you have the following… we want to meet you!

• You hold a bachelor's degree in, industrial engineering, economics or mathematics;

• You have one to two years of experience in similar functions, in sales planning and forecasting or in the supply chain;

• You have experience in the food industry (an asset);

• You are recognized for the precision of your analyzes and your strong problem-solving skills; Furthermore, you have a methodical and logical mind, as well as a great ability to make connections quickly;

• You are autonomous and have good attention to detail;

• Your ease and ability to learn has allowed you to quickly stand out in your roles;

• You are skilled at establishing excellent interpersonal relationships and have great ease in communicating;

• You demonstrate judgment and have a good strategic vision as well as a good understanding of business;

• You are very comfortable with IT and statistical analysis (reports, queries, scenarios);

• You master the advanced functions of Excel (pivot tables, V-Lookup, macros) and Access; knowledge of a forecasting application (e.g. Demand Planning) is an asset;

• You have already worked on SAP (an asset);

• You are bilingual (French, English);
