Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of Technology for Global Banking and Markets by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Accountabilities

Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Obtains and analyzes data and other information, performs analysis, draws conclusions, creates presentations, and writes concise commentary and briefings notes as required to support multiple technologies, regulatory mandates, audit requirements, security and other functions. Supports IT risk owners to identify, profile, assess, measure, and report on IT risks in accordance with the established risk appetite. Serves as a point of contact with the second line of defense to ensure data, relevant to IT risk, is appropriately sourced, validated and reported. Adheres to applicable Enterprise standards. Manages small-to-medium scope programs within the IT risk domain. 1B role that engages heavily with the other lines of defense relevant to IT risk. Partner with other risk groups to assess, implement and communicate new/updated risk controls, frameworks, policies, risk indicators, metrics and limits Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be incorporate into in day-to-day activities and decisions. Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

 

Education / Experience / Other Information

Knowledge and awareness of regulatory and audit environment and ability to assess impact of regulations on IT Risk appetite and frameworks. Candidates should have IT regulatory experience (governance, operations, audit, control functions, compliance, risk management). Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to present information clearly and concisely. Strong project management skills; must be attentive to detail and able to prioritize and manage projects effectively, independently and to completion Advanced in Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint. B1+ level of English.

 

Working Conditions

Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
