Title: Product Manager Midrange and Entry
Job Summary

NetApp is looking for a Product Manager to join the product management team, who has successfully managed Unified storage for block and file workloads with a focus on midrange and entry systems. He/she must have a track record of working in highly effective product management teams and working collaboratively with global R&D.

This is an individual role reporting to the Senior Director of Product Management, he/she will work closely with the company’s Product leadership teams, Sales, TME, Procurement, Marketing, Engineering and Support teams to define and execute a compelling product strategy for the fastest growing segment within NetApp’s portfolio!

The ideal candidate for this role has a background in creating compelling product strategy that positions the product as industry leader with the vision to deliver, experience in both on-premise storage hardware and software for both SAN and NAS environments, strong business acumen, and ability to pursue cross-functionally and up through the leadership chain. This role is focused on flash storage but requires an understanding of other storage types. 
Position Responsibilities & Essential functions

•    Define and execute product vision, direction, and business plans including product plans/roadmaps, and product requirements 
•    Provide insights into the business through analytics and market research
•    Gather, validate, and evaluate product/market requirements through market and customer research, competitive analysis, product research involving customer visits, advisory councils, industry events, analyst relationships, understanding primarily uses and associated software
•    Collaborate with Research & Development to translate market requirements into innovative new technology 
•    Influence cross functional teams (sales, channels, services and marketing) to bring offer(s) to market for on-premises and cloud deployments covering CAPEX and OPEX and consumption-based pricing and As-a-Service offerings
•    Manage pricing and work with supply chain and procurement and vendor partners to improve margins and/or reduce costs
•    Prioritize product requirements to support multiple phase release schedule
•    Able to independently resolve most blockers and raise major issues proactively
•    Coordinate with Engineering and the Sales to facilitate BETA testing activities with end users/testers
•    Translate system functionality into a business relevant language

Job Requirements

Minimum requirements:

•    8+ years in product management. 
•    Experience in hardware product management with focus on Midrange and Entry systems
•    Experience in server, networking and storage technology related experience for data centers, on-premises and understanding of storage technologies such as FCP, iSCSI, NVMe, SMB, NFSv3/NFSv4, S3, SATA, SAS, RAID and erasure coding topology
•    Knowledge with backup and disaster recovery architectures for SAN and NAS environments
•    Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary
•    Work on the technical issues reported by customers on the new/deployed product
•    Strong analytical and logical skills
•    Ability to build and/or use tools for BOM, Sizing, Pricing, etc purposes
•    Problem-solving and organizational skills
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
•    Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally. 
•    Experience working with teams across geographies and business units.
•    Excellent listening, oral, and written communication/presentation skills with strong ability to influence people at all levels and in various functions.
•    BA/BS required, in Computer Science or related technical degree preferred


Preferred requirements:
•    Experience with Tableau, SalesForce, Jira
•    Hands on experience on provisioning of storage devices for out of box experience
•    Deep knowledge around CPUs, GPUs and DPUs and PCIe, NVMe and SSDs
•    Ability to identify, analyze, and solve ambiguous problems with extreme attention to detail
•    MBA


Travel requirements:
15% to 25% of travel will be required
