Title: Professional Services Consultant - Active Secret Clearance
Job Summary

As a Storage Management Consultant, you will be directly engaged with and supporting NetApp customers by deploying, implementing, and integrating various technical architectures that deliver the highest value of our NetApp solutions within the customer’s operational environment. In this role, you will be expected to position, deliver, implement, manage, and monitor various NetApp solutions within diverse customer environments. You will work closely with the sales team to present solutions to the customer’s unique requirements in addition to working with other services personnel in deploying solutions within operational production customer environments. This position requires a dynamic, hard-working and ambitious individual, with strong communication skills. Consulting experience with strong customer interaction skills is a must.

Job Requirements

Experienced technology consultant with significant level of hands-on field experience. Deploy post-sales hardware and software solutions with medium level complexity. Coordinate with senior customer representatives and Sales teams in the performance of daily tasks. Solid foundation with NetApp, IT infrastructure, applications, and Cloud services, providing the ability to quickly become a Subject Matter Expert in these areas:

 

Implementation of backup and restore, disaster recovery, storage consolidation, data protection, storage performance, etc.
Optimization including upgrades, performance monitoring, and system audit tasks.
Follow appropriate escalation guidelines, as required, during customer engagements.
Exposure to and understanding of a variety of integrated technologies/concepts in a distributed environment.
Comply with all customer security and operational requirements in the performance of tasks.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential to interface with mid-to-senior level management and technical teams, architects, systems administrators, and senior operations managers.
Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers, consultants, and Project Managers in a team environment to meet aggressive goals, achieve high quality standards, and share best practices.
Ability to take lead as technical expert when working with customers’ senior technical representatives to design, architect and implement the best solution to meet and exceed customers’ requirements and expectations.
Ability to understand the customers’ business requirements and relate their requirements to technical solutions.
Perform system health checks, monitor alerts, and take appropriate and timely actions as required.
May require limited off hours work (nights and weekends).


The qualified candidate has experience with many of the following hardware platforms, OS, protocols, technologies, and solutions:

NetApp FAS, AFF, E-Series, and FlexPod Converged Infrastructure solutions
Core experience with ONTAP 9.x, SANtricity, and StorageGRID
Cabling systems, upgrading ONTAP versions
Storage Protocols/SVM configuration: CIFS, NFS, Object, iSCSI, FC/FCoE
Data Protection: Snapshots, SnapMirror, SnapVault, Fabric Pool
System Manager, OnCommand Unified Manager, Active IQ Unified Manager
Storage Provisioning of Aggrs, Vols, LUNs, RAID knowledge and configuration
Data Migrations: VMs, CIFS, vol moves etc.
NFS Export Policies
VMware (thorough knowledge of hypervisor and features)
Core networking and switch knowledge ensuring proper configurations with NetApp FAS, AFF, & FlexPod solutions
Cisco UCS configuration and operations
Troubleshooting storage access issues (i.e. CIFS access, lost datastore access, etc.)

Education/Experience A minimum of 8+ years of applicable experience, as outlined above, is required. Requires an active DoD Secret clearance DoD 8140 IAT Level II Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent A Bachelor's degree and at least one or more of the following NetApp certifications strongly preferred, but not required: NetApp Certified Technology Solutions Professional NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) NetApp Certified Storage Installation Engineer

Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is $148,000 - $190,000. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
