The Senior Cloud Technical Navigator is responsible for driving team effectiveness by identifying and removing blockers, supporting the team, and encouraging use of agile best practices and principles in support of application teams’ journey to the cloud. They guide the team by embodying agile values, supporting a culture of continuous improvement and shared practices. The incumbent will actively participate in developing and maintaining a high-performing, self-organizing team.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, and knowledge.
Work with the Director Cloud Operations to review project work assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a regular basis, identifying resource needs, and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.
Operationalize and maintain technical processes/documentation (SOP’s/RCAs)
Schedule and manages daily huddle, establish and own the production support calendar
Provide support to the team to ensure the agile mindset is fully adopted and understood
Assess and coach the team to higher levels of performance, tracking acceleration metrics.
Work with development teams to integrate Cloud Operations into agile ceremonies.
Encourage an environment of open communication and collaborative problem solving. Minimizing impacts of issues through early detection and using them as learning opportunities. Identify technical debt risks and recommend approaches to remediate/minimize.
Apply techniques for effective workflow visualization and management (e.g. Kanban or Scrum Boards)
Develop and nurture strong working relationships with Cloud Engineering teams and CIO Teams
Provide technical guidance and support to application teams on cloud-related issues and best practices.
Ensure compliance with security policies and standards in all cloud operations.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
A self-starter with a strong sense of personal accountability and team responsibility combined with 8+ years of IT experience.
Ability to work on ambiguous problems of moderate to severe complexity.
Extensive experience in operations and change management processes, including developing and implementing change management strategies.
Experience in coordinating and managing change initiatives to ensure successful implementation.
Solid verbal and written communication skills
Experience developing in any of the following languages (Java, JavaScript, C#, Python, Go, Ruby)
Experience designing and implementing tasks in Continuous Integration systems (Jenkins, Bitbucket, Git, GitHub)
OS Experience (RHEL 7.X and Windows 2K12 and above)
Experience supporting GCP and/or Azure
You have strong knowledge of Agile & Lean methodologies for requirements / design methodology - detail oriented, analytical and capable of investigating complex / technical issues and provide alternative solutions, project & production methodologies.
Experience in a modern technology stack.
Knowledge of software design patterns, infrastructure architecture, DevOps, or security considerations.
Understanding of software release process (environments, binary repositories, CI/CD).
Attention to details, high standards for quality.
Nice to have:
People and/or project management experience
Production operations experience with public cloud platforms other than Azure and GCP).
Experience with Tanzu (PCF), Pipelines, and other cloud development platforms
Experience with Kubernetes (GKE & AKS)
Experience supporting containers, container orchestration platforms
Knowledge of network engineering (DNS, TCP/IP, Load balancing, routing protocols, etc)
Knowledge of Cloud security
Cryptographic key management, certificate infrastructures/PKI, secure coding practices, etc.
Experience with Terraform
