Job Summary/Description:

WTOK is seeking someone with the skills necessary to design, maintain, and repair the technology and systems we use to distribute content across multiple platforms.
You will also be responsible for newscast and commercial ingestion as well as play out for ABC, CW, MyTOK, and our Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network, working with the news department to code and present newscasts (Overdrive operation). EAS and transmitter logging to keep the station in FCC compliance and other duties as assigned. You will be surrounded by an experienced team of professionals and equipped with the tools and training necessary to succeed in a rapidly evolving media environment.

Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

• Assist the WTOK Engineering department in the maintenance of News11 television facilities and equipment, including on-air broadcasting systems.
• Provide support for News11 through routine camera maintenance, technical training for journalists, and inventory control of electronic newsgathering (ENG) equipment.
• Use computer systems to document work and maintenance, assist in troubleshooting, and provide technical support for the station's IT environment.
• Obtain an FAA drone operator's license within 90 days of employment.
• Assist with the production of live news and a videographer, camera operator, and drone pilot, including the occasional full workday outside at different locations.
• Facilitate maintenance of the new vehicle fleet.
• Routine building maintenance - replace lights - change air-filters
• Overdrive operation, coding, and playing of live local newscasts for the ABC news affiliate Running EAS tests to keep the station in FCC compliance, monitoring transmitters, and taking accurate readings
• Ability to monitor and fix problems with logs, (Crispin - Loading Dock)
• Working with news to produce Live newscasts, Operation of Overdrive
• Ability to work weekends and duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Able to work a flexible schedule
• Professional, with high self-motivation for providing support and serving others.
• Highly skilled with Windows-based computer systems
• Great communication skills and problem-solving ability under pressure
• Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure on multiple tasks based on station needs.
• Team player with good interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written and advanced computer literacy.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs., with occasional work on ladders.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in good standing.
• Available to provide periodic on-call support as part of an Engineering team rotation.
• Preference will be given to candidates with technical experience in live production, facility maintenance, vehicle maintenance, video production, and/or IT.
• Live Newscast experience, MCR/MCO experience, ingesting show and commercial material
• Knowledge of AP ENPS, Ross Overdrive, Carbonite, Crispin, VizRT Graphics and VizTicker, Bitcentral Precis, and Panasonic PTZ Cameras
• Positive Team Player
