Job Overview:

The Tobacco Treatment Specialist provides tobacco cessation support to NJ residents, including internal and external referrals.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor s degree in education, counseling or related fieldMust complete or have completed training for a tobacco treatment specialist from a credentialed agency within one year of employment

Preferred:

Master s degreeBilingual a plus

Certifications and Licenses Required:

Bachelor s degree in education, counseling or related fieldMust possess or obtain within one year of employment the National Certificate in Tobacco Treatment Practice (NCTTP) through the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC)

Scheduling Requirements:

Shift working, 8am - 4pm (evenings and weekends, when required)Monday - FridayFull-Time

Essential Functions:

Identify and assess a minimum of 20 unduplicated patients per monthMaintain a minimum of 40 patients at all timesMaintain accurate and thorough documentation as required by grantParticipate in group activities with patients that include group discussion and educational activitiesProvide telehealth and in-person counseling Provide tobacco program services to community programsAttend local health fairs and community events to promote the program, and work with the marketing department to increase program awarenessAttend required quit center meetingsPerform all other duties as assigned
