Toll Facilities, Maintenance & Asset Specialist 🔍 Georgia - Fulton - Atlanta (https://careers.georgia.gov/jobs/61470/other-jobs-matching/location-only) New 📁 (https://careers.georgia.gov/landingpages/administrative-operations-support-opportunities-at-team-georgia-16) Administrative & Operations Support 💼 Road and Tollway Authority, State - SRTA 📅    5 days ago Post Date Apply for Job Share this Job Sign Up for Job Alerts Job Description: Under limited supervision of the Director of Toll Operations, the Toll Facilities, Maintenance & Asset Specialist assists in the hands-on field management of the overall maintenance of the State Road & Tollway Authority’s (SRTA) facilities, including asset management of tolling program as well as office equipment, etc. Determines requirements for equipment leases, purchases, and services, and makes recommendations to SRTA management. Provides assistance in the management of planning, developing, and implementing operational support services for SRTA facilities. Assists in the development, negotiation, and oversight of facility maintenance. Initiates and maintains strong vendor relationships. Conducts inventory management (scheduled and unscheduled). Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards: 1. Performs routine and ad hoc inspections of facilities and equipment and takes corrective actions as necessary to report and/or resolve issues. · Inspects and locates malfunctions on fixed and movable equipment. · Notifies supervisor of all minor malfunctions and steps taken to correct as soon as possible as appropriate and applicable per protocol. · Reports major malfunctions to supervisor immediately, escalating as needed to Authority’s emergency operations personnel. · Drives the express lanes, by operating a fleet vehicle, to inspect the facilities for debris and report the matter to the appropriate entity. · Identifies unsafe or potentially hazardous situations and recommends/implements corrective actions. · Establishes and oversees preventative maintenance schedules for SRTA and Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Hub buildings. · Maintains equipment service records. · Researches, recommends, and assists in the procurement of services and/or materials for repairs and maintenance of programs, facilities, and equipment ( toll and non-toll) . · Prepares and negotiates contract services, prepares scopes of work, schedules, change orders and cost estimates. · Maintains and updates the fleet management plan. · Plans, processes, and executes vehicle purchase and/or vehicle replacement. · Oversees the proper maintenance and operations of SRTA non-revenue vehicle fleet via the state fleet programs. · Reviews and approves related vendor, contractor and utility payment requests. · Prepares, submits, and maintains records for insurance claims of the non-revenue fleet and facilities in cooperation with the Office of Human Resources. · Manages compliance with the state asset management process and SRTA internal asset tracking system. 2. Works with designated staff to assist with preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment. · Completes and/or assists in the completion of vehicle service records and service requests accurately and legibly as repairs and servicing are performed. · Assists with minor equipment repairs as needed. · Performs inspections, such as checking vehicle fluid levels, lights, tires and routine maintenance tasks on equipment. · Manages compliance of non-revenue fleet with DOAS requirements for maintenance and fueling. 3. Operates vehicles and equipment. · Operates vehicles and equipment while observing all traffic laws, safety rules, and agency policies. · Operates equipment as required to complete tasks within a specified time while under the instruction and guidance of a supervisor. · Observes equipment for proper operation and immediately notifies supervisor of any malfunction. 4. Responds to requests for emergency needs outside of normal working hours. · Responds within a reasonable timeframe, without prior notice as established by supervisor and/or Authority, when emergency maintenance or repair services are needed. · Reports as assigned and/or instructed by supervisor with prior notice of inclement weather conditions. · Assists with disaster recovery and business continuity efforts as needed. 5. Performs a variety of tasks with minimal supervision in areas of assignment. · Follows all instructions of the supervisor in order to assist the Authority in achieving its objectives. · Performs manual labor as needed according to instructions of the supervisor in order to accomplish the activities of the Authority. · Provides operational support and helps to determine the performance and requirements for equipment leases, purchases, and services related to facilities and/or maintenance areas. 6. Maintains a consistent, high quality, customer-focused orientation when conducting business and providing services or products to clients, the general public, and other external customers. · Treats customers with respect, courtesy and tact; listens to customer and interacts with customer as a person while maintaining business relationships. · Communicates with customers and obtains all required information necessary to determine and address their specific needs; tactfully explains why if service cannot be provided. · Provides clear, accurate information; explains procedures or materials or provides supplemental information; anticipates problems and questions. · Enhances customer relationships through effective channel strategies; facilitates change of operating procedures as needed. 7. Interacts with management and submits status reports, budget information, upgrade recommendations, and problem alerts. · Discusses support requirements and submits appropriate recommendations which best meet these requirements. · Develops efficient upgrade plans/strategies and submits necessary background and budget information to support these plans/strategies according to established standards and procedures. · Conducts meetings with vendors and/or management to exchange relevant information; makes effective and knowledgeable suggestions pertaining to direction that should be followed in the support and upgrade of assigned systems. · Confers with other members of the division and department to resolve problems quickly. 8. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals, and other literature and attending related seminars, conferences and the like. Applies pertinent new knowledge to job. · Plans appropriate training with supervisor in a timely manner. · Attends and completes training plan courses and seminars according to established schedule and availability of courses. · Reads and reviews appropriate professional periodicals and technical manuals to maintain current professional/technical knowledge. · Attends internal and external educational programs and professional meetings as available for continuing professional education. · Attends regular meetings of any available and applicable professional organizations. · Reads and evaluates professional literature on a continual basis, translates complex or technical information into a format that can be understood by others, and distributes as needed. · Incorporates knowledge of pertinent new trends and developments into section policies and procedures and makes recommendations for any related organizational changes. · Demonstrates thorough knowledge of applicable rules and regulations by providing accurate information and technical assistance to unit personnel representatives, employees, and managers. 9. Performs other duties as assigned by Management. Minimum Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or general equivalency AND two (2) or more years of hands-on and/or in-field experience in managing facilities and equipment and inventory control software (e.g., MOMS or MIMS). A working knowledge of computer technology and applications, including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and), is required. Applicants must also possess a current, valid Class C Driver’s License, have a clean driving record, and be certified to operate motor vehicles. Must be able to apply sound principles used throughout the facilities and maintenance trades relative to scope of assigned responsibilities. Applicants must be detail orientated, analytical, highly organized, self-motivated, and possess strong interpersonal skills. The ability to articulate ideas and facts in a clear and concise manner is required. A willingness and desire of applicants to work in both indoor and/or outdoor settings and on-call as needed within a fast-paced work environment in order to perform assigned duties is required for this position. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed in the performance of assigned duties. Possess a focus of safety in performance of duties.
