Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tool and Die Maker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and repairing various tools and dies used in the manufacturing process. 

Responsibilities

Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine specifications and tolerances for tools and dies 

Use hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and machine tools to create or repair tools and dies 

Set up and operate machines such as lathes, grinders, and mills to produce precision parts and components 

Test completed tools and dies for accuracy and functionality, and make necessary adjustments as needed 

Collaborate with engineers and other team members to identify and solve manufacturing problems 

Maintain accurate records of tools and dies and perform routine maintenance to ensure proper functioning 

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies 

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in tool and die making or a related field is preferred 

At least 5 years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker or in a related position 

Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as machine tools such as lathes, grinders, and mills 

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics 

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills 

Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers and other team members 

 

 

Physical Requirements: 

 

Ability to stand for extended periods of time 

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds 

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and other airborne particles
