Our team in Space & Defense is looking for Tool Designer to join them. You will report to the Tool Design Supervisor. And will have an onsite 1st shift work schedule in Blacksburg, VA. 

 

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required.  Two-year Associate degree in Machining, CAD, drafting/design, engineering design and technology, or equivalent Minimum of 3 years Machine Shop experience or equivalent OR a minimum of 2 years CAD experience or equivalent. 

Responsibilities:

Design basic molds, fixtures, jigs and manufacturing aids. Perform tasks using CAD, and 3D printing software. Produce and check tool drawings for accuracy. Select and specify material best suited for job. Assist in implementing new designs into production. Maintain tool drawing files and configuration control. Attend and participate in design reviews. Assist in training / cross-training of others. Participate in Continuous Improvement Process and assist teams with tooling improvements. Perform Data Entry to create tool design requests, work orders, and tool design schedules for core processes and operations.  Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range:

·         $19.00 to $23.00 hourly depending on experience.

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
