Position Summary:
Are you an experienced machinist with a keen eye for precision and a passion for problem-solving? Join our dynamic team as a Tool and Die Maker and become a vital part of our production process. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in developing tooling, fixtures, prototypes, and custom machines, as well as supporting production equipment and processes. Your expertise will ensure we maintain the highest quality standards in the High Security Lock industry. Essential Functions:
Work closely with Design & Tool Engineering on the design & fabrication of new products, tooling, gauges, fixtures & machines to support Operations Troubleshooting of production problems relating to Equipment, Process, Tool Geometry, Fixturing, Machine and Tool Alignments, Set-Up Problems, etc. Produce complete functional tools, gauges, fixtures, dies from detailed blueprints Operate advanced machinery including Proto Trak and Fanuc Wire EDM Production of custom in-house machines CNC Machine setup & basic G-code knowledge Surface grinding & precision tolerance tooling Design and manufacture holding devices necessary to manufacture tooling Continually improve processes, procedures throughout the Tool Room Perform responsibilities in accordance with all company standards, policies and procedures Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Formal education in machine technology, journeyman’s card or equivalent experience. 10 years experience as an Advanced Machinist Demonstrated skill in a manufacturing/tool room environment. Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and implement projects in a timely manner. Basic operational knowledge of Saw, Lathe, Bridgeport, Mill, Surface Grinder.
