Position Overview:
Builds, maintains, and repairs injection molds. Analyzes specifications, sets up and operates tool room equipment, fits and assembles molds, fixtures and equipment, fabricates component parts for molds, fixtures and/or equipment.
ResponsibilitiesMajor Tasks and Responsibilities:
Assist and supports molding departments if required with equipment, molds, and part production.Diagnoses injection mold problems and repairs.Responsible for training and assisting other mold makers and machinists as necessary. Builds new molds and repairs injection molds to required operating conditions. Practices and enforces lock-out/tag-out, mold tagging programs, Preventive Maintenance, and safety procedures as required. Capable of operating all equipment in the tool roomCapable of welding various types of steels and metals.Imports solid models in CNC machinesPerforms complex CNC operations, program editing, manual machine operationsPerforms other duties as assigned QualificationsQualifications:

Education and Experience:
Successful completion of a certified moldmaking apprenticeship program, machinist certification or degree, and a minimum of 8 years’ experience working in a mold building and repair capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets drawings and blueprints. Ability to complete work order and other routine forms.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to operate correctly a wide range of measuring tools and equipment. Must be able to work with fractions, decimals, and do basic geometric calculations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems based on facts and available information. Ability to interpret drawings, instructions, mathematical equations and make reasonable decisions.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to read and interpret tool drawings and product drawings. Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision at times.
