**Job Title: Tool Grinder** **Job Description** The Tool Grinder is responsible for tooling to manufacturer or customer specifications, ensuring cost-effective solutions and understanding each customer's job application to ensure tools are made correctly. The individual is expected to exhibit, recruit, and coach associates consistent with Core Behaviors, and promote a culture of safety. **Responsibilities** + Sort tooling + Set up the machine + Prep and set up jobs to be run for each application + Grind tooling according to tool specs + Clean and inspect machinery and tools + Inspect jobs after final operation + Respond to commonly occurring problems/situations for which standards, procedures or precedents exist + Perform all tasks in accordance with ISO standards **Essential Skills** + Experience as a tool grinder + Proficiency in machine shop operations + Ability to set up machines and inspect parts + Knowledge of material and tooling types + Understanding of machine capabilities, including Tru-Tech, Cylindrical Grinding Machines, and Manual Grinding Machines + Ability to identify bad grinds or chips using eye loupes and magnifiers + Ability to read blueprints + Proficiency in using micrometers, Verniers, and radius gauges + Understanding of appropriate wheel usage for each job + Competency in applying math skills and tool geometry **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Knowledge of what the tool is and how it is used **Why Work Here?** You will be part of a small team, fostering a close-knit and supportive work environment. The employee is regularly required to speak and understand English, stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to clearly focus. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of O Fallon, Missouri. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
