Job Summary
Work from drawings and written instructions to create replacement and new parts in making repairs to metal parts as well as for experimental apparatus or prototype equipment. Work is diversified and machining is performed to ordinary tolerances.
Responsibilities:
Operate or train to operate Manual Lathes, CNC Lathes, Manual Grinders, Manual Mills, CNC Mills, Die Sinks, Wire EDM’s, Hole Poppers and Saws Maintain tooling for production requirements and maintenance needs Achieve first time quality with minimal scrap Respond to emergency requests for tool room assistance and/or tooling Assist and be pro-active in reducing costs and making quality improvements to manufacture forge tooling Reduce costs of process/operation Adhere to company rules and policies Maintain a clean and organized workplaceEducation:
Associates Degree in Computer Integrated Machining and/or Welding Technology (Preferred) Two years apprenticeship or three years practical experienceRequired Skills & Experience:
Proficient in setup, programming, operation and maintenance of tool room equipment Mechanical aptitude and skills Communication skills Basic computer skills Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation Understands metric and standard measuring system Experience with gauges such as Vernier’s, micrometers, height gauges, etc. Stellite welding experience preferred Three to four years’ experience in a technical environment preferredWorking Conditions:
Standard physical requirements Reaching, walking Pulling, pushing and lifting 50 lbs or less Noise, atmospheric conditions, oils and coolants
