**Adecco is partnering with a company in Portage, WI in hiring a tool maker.**
**Pay: $30-32/hr**
The hours are Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm
**Summary/Objective**
The 3-D Programmer Tool and Die Maker is responsible for designing, programming, fabricating, and maintaining precision tools, dies, and fixtures to support production operations. This role requires expertise in 3D CAD/CAM programming, CNC machining, and manual toolmaking techniques to create high-quality components that meet strict specifications. The individual will collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot tooling issues, improve manufacturing processes, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. A focus on continuous improvement, process optimization, and equipment maintenance is critical to success in this role.
**Essential functions**
+ Design, edit, and optimize 3D CAD/CAM models and multi-axis toolpaths for tool and die fabrication using software such as PowerShape, PowerMill, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD.
+ Write, review, and edit programs, using Post Processors to ensure efficiency and accuracy. **Understands Multi Axis machining.**
+ Build, repair, and maintain precision tools, dies, and fixtures using CNC and manual machines, including lathes, and mills.
+ Conduct setup and alignment of tooling and workpieces for machining processes. Inspect and verify completed tools and dies for accuracy, functionality, and compliance with specifications.
+ Troubleshoot tooling issues, make necessary adjustments, and recommend process improvements.
+ Prepare detailed run instructions, setup sheets, and tool lists for machinists to ensure efficient execution of machining processes.
+ Review and interpret 3D CAD blueprints and collaborate effectively with designers, engineers, and programmers to optimize manufacturability.
+ Verify and test completed programs through simulations and real-time trials to ensure accuracy and functionality.
+ Select appropriate cutting tools, calculate optimal feeds and speeds, and use standardized tool lists to minimize unnecessary tool changes.
+ Analyze machining operation sequences to optimize machine time, setups, and resource utilization.
+ Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) to verify that all parts meet design specifications before transitioning to full production.
+ Personally proof programs alongside operators to confirm the program’s effectiveness and ensure final parts meet blueprint requirements.
+ Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.
+ Identify and mitigate potential hazards related to machining and tooling operations.
+ Stay updated on advancements in machining technology and tooling practices to enhance job performance.
+ Perform additional duties as required to support operational goals and objectives.

**Required education and experience**
+ Three (3) or more years trade school apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on work experience in tool and die making, including fabrication, repair, and maintenance of precision tools, dies, and fixtures.
+ 2-5 years’ experience using 3-D programming and CAD/CAM software (e.g., PowerShape, PowerMill, Mastercam, SolidWorks).
**Preferred Education and experience**
