Responsibilities

• Run daily Tool Room operations.
• Plan and direct Tool Room activities and establish production priorities in regards to the Tool Room.
• Maintain and regain cavitation in order to meet monthly objectives. Maintain mold spare componenet inventory. Replenish as needed. Determine Mold PM and ensure that all parts if needed are correct.

• Interact with cross-functional departments to discuss project specifications or procedures.
• Direct, review, and approve new tool design changes in order to improve current and future mold design and achieve quality part and optimum cycles. Review Manager Plus daily work details.
• Contribute to investigation processes by analyzing plastic part related problems in molding operations and recommending corrective actions in relation to tooling.

• Direct recruitment, placement, training, and evaluation of Tool Room staff.

• Recommend part quality improvement and cost reductions; Investigate and recommend purchase of Tool Room equipment and mold spare components. Work with external vendors in recieving quotations and placing work orders.
• Maintain and regain cavitation in order to meet monthly objectives; Develop and maintain project budgets.
• Benchmark current work environment to world-class Tool Room and continually improve the current work practices.
• Apply lean manufacturing tools such as 5S and SMED in tool room.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supports and maintains all policies of the company including but not limited to ISO/BRC Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, and standard work procedures.

Qualifications AutoCAD, Pro E software experience desiredStrong problem solving and time management skillsProficient in Scientific Injection Molding principlesMS Office experienceAbility to read blueprintsManufacturing environment. Some exposure to office environment.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.
