Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tool Room Technician to join our exceptional team in Mebane. As a Tool Room Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the flawless operation of our manufacturing processes, contributing to our world-class products that make a positive impact on a global scale. A Day in the Life:Supervise work orders to ensure efficient operations in the Tool Room.Track and manage the red zone to maintain a safe working environment.Use hand tools with accuracy and efficiency.Provide support to the process team for seamless production.Repair and maintain tools to ensure optimal performance.Clean tools thoroughly before sending them to the machine.Perform preventive maintenance routines and maintain accurate documentation.Operate tool shop equipment with precision and expertise.Implement and maintain 5S practices in the tool room and tool shop.Organize and store tools in racks for easy accessibility.

Keys to Success:

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED required.2+ years of machine shop experience, including CAD required (Apprenticeship Program or certification from a technical school can be considered).Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, blueprints, and procedure manuals.Strong mathematical skills for calculations and measurements.Excellent problem-solving and reasoning abilities.Strong emphasis on collaboration, achieving outcomes, and demonstrating leadership abilities.

Skills and KnowledgeProficiency in multi-cavities tools, hot runner systems, CNC Lathe, Grinding Machine, Milling Machine, Laser Welder, Roll-O-Matic, Mold Flow analysis, Solid Works, Master CAM, and tip tools.
