Essential Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintenance Operations:
Manages all Tool Room operations within appropriate process guidelines and budgets;Oversees all cost control/justification for department, including purchasing of tooling repair parts;Develops and implements modifications and improvements, recommending specifications and scheduling for new projects and process improvements; Schedules daily mold setting, cleaning and repair activities;Maintains preventive maintenance program for all molds and insures that these are performed as scheduled;Evaluates down time and efficiency reports to determine productivity levels and areas requiring special attention.Actively meets with vendors and suppliers to insure best price/quality are being received on all part and/or repair orders;Maintains and insures organization of tooling part inventory;Conducts lock-out/tag-out training as needed;Coordinates with outside repair vendors and insures that their work is completed according to standard procedures.Responsible for maintaining the Food Safety Program (GMP)
Personnel:
Lead staff to accomplish activities in an efficient and safe manner by:Providing definition of job dutiesProviding training opportunities for staffConducting performance evaluationsDefining criteria for personnel advancementAdminister coaching/counseling as required in a timely mannerProvide accurate attendance records to human resources indicating any point assessmentsEnforce personnel policies and procedures; complete and submit all associated paperwork in a timely manner;Assists in the selection of staff;Maintain safe working conditions with a goal of 1 or less recordable accidents and zero lost time accidents;Control employee overtime hours.Manufacturing Support:
Assist other departments with special projects as assigned.Actively participate in production management team meetings as requested.Responsible for implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System (ISO)
PPE Required – Requirements are proper hearing protection, safety glasses (prescription if required), steel-toed shoes, hairnet, beardnet (if employee has chin hair greater than 1/8 inch).
Authorities:
Authority to shut down production or stop any machine for any reason deemed necessaryPerform essential functions and assigned duties while communicating any deviations from the requirements to managementReport any safety concerns to management and to shut down any equipment that presents a safety hazardHave production shut down to make any necessary tooling repairs that are deemed necessary or could affect the quality of the product being producedQualifications
Technical Skills:
Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and leadership to peers and subordinates on the repair and maintenance of tooling for injection molding, stretch blow molding, and assembly equipmentExtensive knowledge of injection molding, stretch blow molding, and reheat and blow molding toolingProven ability to lead, motivate and direct employees.Knowledge of applicable laws, ordinances, rules and regulationsDemonstrated ability to work well in a team environmentFlexibility to work some overtime, as necessaryPreparation of cost estimates, budgets, correspondence and status reportsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and Word
Experience:
5-7 years of progressive experience as a Plant Tooling Manager in a high volume-manufacturing environment.4-5 years of experience in repair and maintenance of injection molding and/or stretch blow molding tooling.
