Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Tooling & Emergent Operations Team has an exciting opportunity on their team in Berkeley, MO, for a Tooling Mechanic.
Position Responsibilities:
Fabricate, maintain, modify, & install various forms of tooling, such as production assembly jigs, engineering test fixtures, fabrication equipment, etc. in collaboration with engineering design teams, production operations, and production engineering
Develop, prepare and maintain all documentation related to the design, fabrication, and usage of various tooling items and their respective associated calibration equipment
Utilize manual equipment to fabricate or modify various tooling components
(Examples: Bridgeport mill, manual lathe, surface grinder, drill press, etc.)
Other responsibilities may include: Equipment Maintenance & Calibration, Blueprint Reading, CNC machining, Welding, Composites Modification, Tooling Inspection, Laser Tracking, and much more
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
1+ years of experience working in a tool fabrication
1+ years of experience working in a CNC machine shop environment
High school graduate or GED
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Technical trade school certificate/degree (Or appropriate apprenticeship completion)
1+ years of experience in programming & operating CNC machinery
Experience with CAD/CAM Software (MasterCAM, NX, Catia, etc.)
Experience with Aerospace tool fabrication
Experience using manual fabrication machines and equipment, e.g., Knee Mills, Gear Lathes, Surface Grinders, Drill Press, Overhead Crain, Fork Lifts…Etc.
Experience using inspection tools, e.g., Micrometers, Calipers, Indicators, Height Gauges, Bore Gauges, CMMs, Laser Trackers, Portable Arms, Optical Comparators…Etc.

The selected candidate must be able to work any shift, as assigned.This is an hourly position governed by the IAM Collective Bargaining agreement.New Hires, as well as employees who transfer from non-union positions, may be required to attend some type of training upon their start. Once any required training has been completed all new employees will be considered on probation for a period of one hundred twenty (120) calendar days.
