MAU is hiring a Tooling Technician at Robert Bosch in Charleston, SC. As a Tooling Technician, you will machine various components and tools. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

The Bosch plant has manufactured high-quality automotive products at the Charleston, SC facility for over 30 years. With a history of innovation, the plant specializes in advanced products, such as antilock braking systems, gasoline fuel injectors, and diesel fuel injectors. Our associates will run state-of-the-art automatic production equipment and technology in a clean, climate-controlled environment. These positions are long-term, with opportunities for upgrades, conversion to full-time hire, and skill training programs offered each year.
Shift Information Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM Required Education and Experience High school diploma or GED 5+ years of machining experience; OR Tool-making apprenticeship completion 4+ years of experience in precision machining, including turning, milling, Internal Diameter (ID), Outer Diameter (OD), surface grinding, and writing CNC programs Expert in various measuring tools, ID, OD, depth micrometers, height gage, and manual Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) Expert in prints, including geometric dimensions Working knowledge of materials, tool steels, aluminum, and stainless steel Experience in material heat treating and tempering General Requirements Strong technical aptitude Ability to communicate effectively with supervision and other personnel while creating clear technical instructions Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite Ability to thrive in a noisy, fast-paced environment Demonstrated self-initiative Demonstrated mechanical proficiency, leadership ability, and teamwork Willingness to work on alternate shifts and adapt to changes, train, coach, and travel as needed Preferred Requirements Computer-aided machining experience Essential Functions Follow all plant safety and environmental policies Maintain a clean and orderly workspace Machine various components to print specification Source materials Develop machining processes Create CNC programs Provide measurement results Optimize processes Achieve expected production quantities to ensure customer goals are met Complete assigned technical training to support personal growth and development Collaborate with Operators, Manufacturing Technicians, Engineers, and area Leadership as needed Perform other tasks as assigned
