This includes tool and drill grinding and welding and brazing tool bits. This position reports directly to the Maintenance and Facilities Manager as part of the Engineering group and will operate daily out of the **Indianapolis, IN** facility (primarily Mon-Fri - 1st shift). **_Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support._** **_Your main responsibilities:_** + Setup and operate any machine tool needed in the construction or repair of tools, fixtures, machine parts, experimental and developmental parts, as well as special production parts. + Plan sequence of operations. + Make layouts, including compound angles, complex contours, establishment of coordination holes and reference points between several plans. + Prepare bills of material and sketches of items required to complete assignment. + Provide training and instruction to other employees as required. + Performs manual and electronic record keeping and information retrieval functions + Move material as required. + Perform operations such as, filing, deburring, fitting, and etc. + Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner. + All standard fabrication and welding. + Product repair welding. + All assigned duties. + Perform work, promote teamwork and communicate in conjunction with our culture and corporate standards (Safety/Environmental, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Communication, Internal Controls, etc.). **_Competencies_** + Ability to read and interpret machining prints. + Competence in Following instructions and procedures, Planning and organizing, working with people + Detail oriented + English proficiency **_Posting, Reporting, and Work Relations_** This role will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and EHS to meet business needs. **Your background** **_We imagine that you have:_** + High School Diploma, GED/HSE/HiSET or equivalent *required + 1-3 years manual machining (including but not limited to mills, drills and grinders) experience *much preferred + Combination of education, training, or experience which satisfies the job functions and the knowledge skills and ability requirements **_Physical and Work Environment_** + This position requires the incumbent to stand for extended periods of time, frequently grasp tools, stoop, crouch, reach, stand, and walk when performing duties; twist and reach when assembling parts. + Specific vision abilities include close, distance and peripheral vision. + Working with machinery and Welders in a noisy environment + Lifting up to 40 lbs. + Able to work in a non-climate controlled factory **What’s in it for you?** **What are your goals?** Here at Peerless it’s our mission to enable you develop and fulfil your aspirations, both career and personal.
