Understand your role in an emergency, as designated in the Emergency Response Plan and Station Bill. Lead or participate in all emergency drills and exercises, as required. Ensure change is properly controlled and managed.
DUTIES:
The underlying expectation is that all duties are carried out in compliance with the Company Operational Discipline expectations and HSE requirements. When considering assignment of duties for the Toolpusher, the Supervisor and the Toolpusher apply the rules of task planning (CAKES) to determine if the assigned role is appropriate. This means confirming that the individuals involved have the knowledge, skills, and experience to carry out the task, and the task plan complies with policy before they are authorized to proceed.
GENERAL DUTIES:
Operations/Maintenance:
Ensure that the Driller is provided each tour with the Standing Instructions to Driller (SID) that is relevant to the planned operations.Perform all calculations for Kick Tolerance and maximum overpull.Ensure all BHA’s and Pipe tallies are correct with all required relevant information.Conduct all Drilling Operations in compliance with the Toolpusher Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor the maintenance, repair and installation of all drilling equipment including repair, lubrication, maintenance records, and inventory levels.Maintain records of inspections and certification of drilling equipment, tools and tubular.Ensure the mud mixing systems and solid control equipment are being monitored constantly and properly maintained.Relieve the Driller at the Driller’s console as operational requirement demands Monitor the application of the Company Rig Maintenance System (AIM) for drilling department maintenance tasks.Supervise equipment preparation for impending drilling operations.Assist in planning the job activities of the drilling department and associated activities.Ensure that well control requirements are in place according to operational requirements; assist in supervising well-killing operations in an emergency situation.Perform all well control calculations (i.e. mud weight increase, initial and final circulating pressures, number of strokes, etc.).Assist the Drilling Superintendent / Senior Toolpusher or OIM in coordinating the activities of third-party personnel responsible for various aspects of the well program and ensure that they understand Transocean policy and procedures related to the task and that they follow safety processes.Review the daily drilling operations report in the Global Management System (GMS) for accuracy and approve accordingly.Prepare Requisition Purchase Orders for equipment or parts necessary to keep the drilling operation free of downtime.Assist in ensuring that sufficient stock of parts and materials are maintained for drilling equipment.Assist in the planning, organization and supervision of rig move operations.Maintain proper communication with the Drilling Superintendent / Senior Toolpusher and OIM regarding the progress of drilling and associated operations.Recommend adjustments to drilling parameters as necessary to improve the overall drilling operation’s performance while staying in line with the customer's drilling program.Promote and maintain an effective working relationship with other departments, third-party personnel and Customer Representatives.Inform the Drilling Superintendent / Senior Toolpusher or the OIM of any incidents, potential hazards or abnormal situations.Actively participate in safety meetings, FOCUS Improvement Process, and all other safety processes in the Safety Management System.Incorporate the Task Planning Risk Assessment process into all tasks, whether working alone or as part of a team.Participate in the START process.Ensure that subordinate personnel are properly trained to perform START observations and monitoring.Ensure that DROPS inspections are conducted as per the rig’s DROPS inspection program.Call a Time Out for Safety (TOFS) whenever an unplanned hazard or a change in the expected results is observed.Demonstrate commitment to Company safety policies through the consistent application of leadership and guidance.Ensure that effective well control drills are carried out regularly and recorded.Ensure that a high standard of hygiene and housekeeping is maintained onboard the rig.Meet the training requirements according to the applicable training matrix.Personnel:Promote and maintain good working relationships with other departments, third-party personnel and Customer representatives.Ensure all Drilling personnel meet the training requirements as per their applicable training matrix.Mentor, coach, develop and train crew members to ensure they are competent to work at their next job level.Provide leadership and motivation to the drilling crews.
