Top Secret Configuration Manager
The Configuration Manager will support a federal agency. This position requires writing, editing, content creation, organizational communication, and research and analysis in leading configuration management/quality assurance activities within a federal agency.



Job Duties:

Provide Configuration Management and Quality Assurance support for Program Management Office (PMO) and agencys network-related activities.
Document all configuration changes to the network, applications, and interfaces; this includes agencys nomenclature and business practices, policies, and procedures.
Demonstrate working knowledge of configuration management planning, controlling, accounting, auditing, configuration lifecycle management processes and policy.
Provides configuration management planning.
Describes provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits.
Regulates the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software.
Provide assistance and support in preparations for Lifecycle Management (LCM) Gate reviews, where applicable.
Conduct audits of the following processes including Configuration Management, Project Management, Quality Assurance, and Risk Management.
Lead Change Control Board (CCB) activities, and coordinate and facilitates monthly CCB meetings.
Lead the development and implementation of configuration management (CM) processes and policy; create and maintain CM process, best practice and policy documents to ensure CM rigor and improve efficiency.
Responsible for the completion of all configuration management tasks; coordinate cross-functionally with teams to identify, communicate and resolve configuration management issues.
Define target technical metrics in the CM plan; as directed, interface with business units to align CM plan with business plan.
Coordinate and participate on technical working group meetings (schedule and facilitate meetings, track change requests, maintain CM database).
Track software licenses and usage.
Perform change management and release management activities for software applications.
Maintain the integration between asset management, configuration management, and program portfolio management tools.
Prepare project papers and reports; organize and deliver briefings to managers to encourage understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations, proficiently using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Excel and Visio).
Conduct detailed analyses of complex functions and work processes.
Effectively interface with all levels of management and technical personnel using good oral and written communication skills.
