Salary: Current Salary per GTA Contract Bargaining Unit ( click here (https://www.greececsd.org/Page/531) for contracts): GTA Report Times: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm Daily Hours: 7 Work Year: 2025-2026 Supervisor: Stacey Brindisi Minimum Requirements: Must possess a valid New York State teaching certificate in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education (including K Certification), and/or Licensure/Certification as a Related Service Provider; · Tenured Teacher; · Meeting or exceeding expectations on 2012-13 Performance Reviews as defined by the District Professional Performance Review; all teachers selected for these positions will be highly skilled teachers who are rated as effective or highly effective on the APPR and have records of improving outcomes for high-needs students; This position may be called on to substitute in classroom(s) when the need for a daily substitute arises. In very rare cases, this position may be called upon to fulfil a vacancy in the appropriate tenure area until the vacancy can be filled. The individual in this position may be invited to attend Summer Leadership Academy (SLA) and will be compensated at the Professional Rate ($35/hour). Desired Qualifications: Commitment to leading and participating in professional development to meet the needs of all learners; · Willingness to facilitate professional development; · Proven success as a classroom teacher with students with learning challenges; · Excellent oral and written communication skills; · Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage independently; · Demonstrated leadership skills; · Knowledge of the NYS assessments and curriculum · Must possess a broad background of educational experience in the areas of preschool special education, Committee on Special Education, and/or research based instructional practices; · Must possess knowledge of Federal and State special education procedures; · Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills; and · Must possess the ability to assume a District leadership role, facilitate a group, and communicate effectively; Position Summary/Responsibilities: Duties to include the following: · Schedule, organize, and conduct Committee on Special Education/Committee on Preschool Special Education meetings; · Work collaboratively with parents and agencies to identify services, develop IEPs, and coordinate service delivery; . Complete and submit STACs to NYSED for approval for reimbursement for the cost of the delivery of services; . Work collaboratively with the Monroe County Department of Public Hearth, parents, and approved preschool provider agencies and programs to identify services and coordinate service delivery; · Facilitate the seamless coordination of transitioning from preschool to school-age programs; . Collaborate with Monroe County school district CPSE representatives, state agencies and advocacy groups and provider agencies to navigate challenges associated with service delivery in a current statewide shortage of providers and classroom programs · Collaborate with Special Education Department team to develop effective models to maximize student success in inclusive settings; . Collect, maintain, and submit documentation of student progress as per NYS Performance Plan Preschool Indicator criteria; · Consult with Executive Director of PPS relative to technical, legal requirements/interpretations of policy, current legislation, changes in regulations, fiscal procedures, monitoring, and evaluation procedures; . Problem solve questions and concerns with parents and school teams · Represent the school district at county wide Special Education meetings and other professional development as requested; · Observe students in general education and special education classroom programs throughout the county · Collaborate with District UPK team and Director of Elementary and Early Childhood Education to coordinate implementation of special education programs and services in general education settings -Regular attendance at Districtwide PreK PLC meetings and PPS Department meetings · Other duties as assigned.
