Salary: Current Salary per GTA Contract Bargaining Unit ( click here (https://www.greececsd.org/Page/531) for contracts): GTA Report Times: TBD Daily Hours: 2.8 Work Year: 2025-2026 Supervisor: Jamie Wojtowicz Minimum Requirements: NYS Certification in Social Studies, required GCSD tenured teacher Meeting or exceeding standards as defined by the District Professional Performance Review Desired Qualifications: Minimum of eight (8) years classroom experience; Leadership experience in a secondary school setting preferred; GCSD Culturally Responsive Education Training; Experience teaching secondary Social Studies; Strong communication skills and interpersonal relations skills; Ability to work with and support school administrators and teachers; Strong background with state standards in English Language Arts and Social Studies; Strong Social Studies content expertise; Ability to evaluate and lead curriculum work to ensure alignment with the Social Studies Framework and the new Framework Regents Exams; Strong understanding of and commitment to the NYS K-12 Social Studies Framework and inquiry based instruction; Analyze assessment data to inform curriculum decisions and instructional practices Position Summary/Responsibilities: Support the administration of assessments, goals, and evaluation of the NYS K-12 Social Studies Framework; Plan, coordinate and implement a K-12 Social Studies curriculum based on the Framework that meets diverse student needs; Keep current with best practices for curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Develop strategies to implement best practices throughout the District; These practices include the NYS Culturally Responsive Sustaining Education Framework as well as integration with English Language Arts and ISTE standards. Work with the Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment to plan for, implement, and evaluate multi-year staff development programs that provide training on updated curricula and instructional practices; Maximize student and staff support by developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with school and district staff Support monitoring of District assessment results and work to seek continuous improvement; Coordinate meetings for Social Studies staff; Work in collaboration with Director of Humanities Prepare written and oral presentations May be required to mentor new hires across the district as needed with supervisor approval Other duties, as assigned This position may be called on to substitute in classroom(s) when the need for a daily substitute arises. In very rare cases, this position may be called upon to fulfil a vacancy in the appropriate tenure area until the vacancy can be filled. The individual in this position may be invited to attend Summer Leadership Academy (SLA) and will be compensated at the Professional Rate ($35/hour).
