Demonstrated ability to collaborate with staff, students, and community/business partners Effective or Highly Effective as determined by the Annual Professional Performance Review Process Knowledgeable of labor laws and NYS Work Based Learning procedures for students with disabilities and general education students Willingness to work with students from all four GCSD High Schools Strong interpersonal and communication skills Desired Qualifications: Experience in coordinating work-based learning programs Strong understanding of state and federal labor laws, workplace safety, and career development education Experience with career counseling and student advisement A Strong knowledge of graduation requirements and CDOS credentials Experience facilitating a School Based Enterprise Position Summary/Responsibilities: Teacher will work closely with both work study and general education students Establish and maintain relationships with work sites, program managers, counselors and administrators Coordinate and oversee all work-based learning experiences within the school district as per NYSED guidelines Facilitate career awareness activities, including career fairs and industry tours. Attend career awareness activities and support College and Career Coordinator initiatives. Develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses for internship and co-op opportunities Ensure compliance with labor laws and safety regulations Provide related classroom instruction and career counseling as required. Potentially teach a Pathway class or Co-op or Work Based Learning Section Work with students to complete Employability Profiles and NY State Career Plans when necessary. Maintain student work based learning and career awareness hours. Collaborate with job training specialists including training new employees, support at work sites, parent communication Troubleshoot individual worksite problems and placement changes with Work-Based Learning Coordinators, Work Readiness Special Education Teachers, Job Training Specialists and Career and Technical Education Teachers Work with counselors and administrators to ensure understanding of Career and Technical Education, District Pathways Encourage students to participate in Career and Technical Endorsement Diplomas May be required to mentor new hires across the district as needed with supervisor approval School Year/Full Year, Up to 10 summer days paid at 1/200th GTA rate This position may be called on to substitute in classroom(s) when the need for a daily substitute arises. In very rare cases, this position may be called upon to fulfil a vacancy in the appropriate tenure area until the vacancy can be filled. The individual in this position may be invited to attend Summer Leadership Academy (SLA) and will be compensated at the Professional Rate ($35/hour).
