**What you will do**
As the Compensation SME, you will support managers and People and Culture Partners in implementing compensation policies and processes and work closely with local and global HRIS teams to configure, test and improve compensation processes.
**You’re excited about this opportunity because you will:**
+ Provide appropriate recommendation to improve /streamline 3rd party vendor processes/SLA’s and contribute to vendor selection.
+ Supports Total Rewards Manager on the annual compensation processes including Annual Salary Review and Incentive Plan Administration.
+ Coordinates and supports implementation and administration of compensation and benefit programs.
+ Respond to all process escalations by proposing alternate solution(s).
+ Create/update/finalize work instructions with new and improved process improvements and enhancements.
+ Educate customers regarding processes and proactively seeks agreements to maintain/improve SLA’s.
+ Coordinate the resolution to escalated cases. · Prepares/distributes communication materials for employees, managers and the HR community.
+ Perform all other duties as assigned, which may include, but are not limited to, Service & Retirement Awards, Variable Salary and Field Incentive Plan administration/harmonization, annual salary review administration, salary survey participation, FLSA testing, ad-hoc reporting, etc.
+ Support the ongoing administration of the Volvo relocation programs including domestic group move(s) and Foreign Local Hires.
+ Participate in special projects and other duties as needed.

**Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:**
+ Ability to think critically in order to identify and solve problems through creativity and sound HR principles.
+ Superior customer service and verbal and written communication skills are important to communicate with the diverse community within Volvo as well as external vendors.
+ Interpersonal communication and emotional intelligence skills are especially important to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact, and diplomacy. Attention to detail is also essential.
+ Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks (planned and unplanned), meet deadlines and maintain quality of work.
+ Working knowledge of reward principles and practices, and state and federal government regulations pertaining to Compensation.
+ Relevant and demonstrated experience working with variable pay programs, including payout determination according to business results/plan metric parameters, maintaining plan documentation, templates, and the ability to implement plan changes according to approved business requirements on a year-to-year basis.
+ Excellent analytical skills. · Ability to gain/maintain/improve the confidence and respect of others.
+ Excellent problem solving, time management, reporting and data analysis/interpretation and data manipulation skills. · Advanced excel skills and knowledge of HR applications such as Success Factors.
**Education & Experience:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and attributes.
+ 7-10 years of relevant compensation administration experience required.
+ Experience working in an HR Shared Services environment is preferred.
+ A working knowledge of corporate relocation programs, retirement & service award administration is required
