Scope of Responsibility:

The Tower Technician is a member of a crew performing general construction activities, with an emphasis on installing tower systems and the maintenance and inspections of existing tower structures.  The Tower Technician shall at all times uphold the foundational goals of Sabre, "Client Service, Quality, and Safety" to enhance the integrity for which the organization has become known.

 

Essential Duties:

Complete all necessary safety training provided by SabreResponsible for all phases of tower construction, modification, repair, and maintenanceAssist troubleshooting cellular network installation projectsIdentify all materials and other resources needed to complete projectComplete quality work in a timely and efficient mannerErection of various tower types, including self-support and monopolesInstallation and alignment of various types of antennasAssist installing guy wires, grounding, and cad weldingSetting shelters and installation of ice bridgeCoaxial cable terminations and weatherproofingAssist performing plumb and tension techniquesComplete all necessary technical training provided by SabreAt all times, maintain safe work practices as outlined in the Sabre Safety Manual, as well as other safety and quality directives issued by the Crew Foreman or ManagementRead and understand general Sabre project and safety documentsOperate hand and power toolsOperate trucks, trailers, and other equipmentInstallation of various types of coaxial componentsAssistance in the routing of coaxial lines in/on various types of structuresAssistance in the installation of various antennas on various structuresRegular and on-time attendanceWork in your shift as scheduledGetting along with coworkers

 

Position Requirements: 

Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testingMedical and physical ability to perform duties of the positionAbility to maintain a valid driver's license, with a driving record that is within guidelines of the Sabre Driver's Insurability AgreementAbility to travel for extended periods of timeAbility to communicate fluently with Crew Foreman and other Sabre employeesAbility to learn from various instruction methods, as well as self-studyAbility to read and understand general job-related documentsPrevious construction and/or construction industry experience preferred

 

Physical Requirements: 

Ability to climb with up to a 30 lb. load and work at elevated heights up to 2000', with most of the work performed at 400' or less; must be able to pull own body weight plus equipment weight up a vertical tower repeatedlyAbility to stand continuously, reach frequently, & bend at waist and knees frequentlyRequires working outdoors in all types of weatherAbility to stoop, crawl, squat and lift 50 lbs.; and be able to lift 50 lbs. overhead occasionallyRequires good finger and hand dexterity to utilize various hand tools in a repetitive manner
