We partner with engineering and production teams to bring reliability and repeatability to our test systems, improve throughput and accelerate the transition. We are looking for an engineer with experience in component and device testing both in HW and SW aspects, creating test simulations, developing tear down/setup systems and integrations with industry standard tools and equipment such as Test stand and Labview. An Environmental Test Hardware Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining test equipment and systems used to simulate various environmental conditions for product testing. This role is crucial in ensuring that products can withstand and function properly in diverse environmental situations. This role combines technical expertise in hardware engineering with project management and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the successful deployment and execution of test programs. Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Test Hardware Engineering: 1. Using Systems Engineering approach, Design and develop Test Systems and Environmental test equipment and fixtures to simulate conditions such as temperature extremes, humidity, vibration, shock, and altitude. 2. Develop systems that can be scaled. 3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product designers, quality assurance, and manufacturing) to understand test requirements and develop appropriate test methodologies. 4. Conduct environmental tests on products and components, analyzing results and providing recommendations for improvements. 5. Select and integrate appropriate test instrumentation, such as power supplies, signal generators, and measurement devices, into the test hardware. 6. Develop and implement test algorithms, control software, and data acquisition systems to automate testing processes. 7. Optimize test hardware performance, reliability, and maintainability through continuous improvement. 8. Troubleshoot and debug test hardware issues, providing timely solutions to minimize production delays. 9. Establish and maintain detailed documentation for test hardware, including schematics, user manuals, and maintenance procedures. 10. Stay current with industry standards and regulations related to environmental testing (e.g., MIL-STD, RTCA/DO-160, IEC standards). 11. Develop and implement new test methods and technologies to improve efficiency and accuracy of environmental testing processes. 12. Manage test schedules and resources to meet project deadlines and budgets. 13. Provide technical guidance and training to other team members on environmental test procedures and equipment operation. 14. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance test processes and methodologies. Test Program Management: 1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance) to understand testing requirements and develop comprehensive test plans. 2. Manage the execution of test programs, including test schedule coordination, resource allocation, and task tracking. 3. Continuously monitor test program progress, identify and mitigate risks, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders. 4. Ensure adherence to relevant industry standards, regulations, and customer specifications for test procedures and reporting. 5. Identify opportunities for test program optimization, such as improving test coverage, reducing cycle time, or enhancing test data analysis. 6. Provide technical leadership and training to test technicians and other team members on the proper use and maintenance of test hardware. 7. Participate in the selection, evaluation, and qualification of new test equipment and instrumentation. 8. Optimize the velocity of engineering development through the design and application of mechanisms. 9. Manage timeline, dependencies, and deliverables.
