The surface mobile maintenance team at St Ives Gold Mine have an opportunity for a Trade Assistant (Operator : Trade) to join their team.
Role Details
Reporting to Supervisor: Mechanical (Mobile), your main responsibilities as a Trade Assistant (Operator Trade) will include but not be limited to assisting and providing quality and timely parts tooling and consumables supply to the mobile and ancillary equipment maintenance department as well as other areas of the operation to ensure operational targets are met in a safe, environmentally compliant, and efficient manner.
This role is offered on a 12-month maximum term contract on a 8 days on, 6 days off roster and is open to Goldfields regional residential applicants only.

About the role:
Ensure the achievement of budgeted maintenance targets by assisting maintenance trades personnel in executing preventative maintenance activities by ensuring sound parts supply, parts identification, parts ordering, tool store management, tool compliance and retention processes and consumable inventory control processes are followed;
Report all safety hazards, environmental hazards, incidents, damage, delays to parts supply resulting in equipment stoppages to the mobile maintenance shift Supervisor;
Support the efficient operation of the St Ives mobile maintenance workshop, by providing reliable and accurate maintenance knowledge and practical application;
Must demonstrate an extremely high standard of housekeeping throughout stores, warehouses, tool stores and staging areas and other areas maintenance work is carried out.
About you:
Hold a valid WA manual drivers licence
Parts systems knowledge of Komatsu, Cat, and Sandvik (desirable)
SAP or maintenance planning systems knowledge (preferred)
Forklift ticket (Essential)
Sound problem-solving skills
Knowledge of tooling compliance practices in a mechanical workshop (highly desirable)
