Job Summary:
The Trade Compliance Director (Digital Imaging, OEM and TS&I) is responsible for leading the successful implementation of trade compliance requirements across OEM and Teledyne Scientific & Imaging (TS&I) with office locations in Goleta, CA / Thousand Oaks, CA / Camarillo, CA and Durham, NC. The role will serve as the primary trade compliance liaison with executive leadership at these locations and will manage one trade compliance professional. The role requires extensive expertise in ITAR and EAR to effectively drive compliance and also requires high business acumen, active engagement, and forward-thinking involvement in business operations. Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategize with business leaders across all sites at OEM and TS&I to enhance trade compliance while enabling efficient business operations.
Assist trade compliance site leadership team on implementing standard practices and training programs that align to corporate trade compliance program requirements.
Act as the primary trade compliance resource and perform operational trade compliance duties at OEM.
Inform business leaders and trade compliance management of statutory or regulatory changes in trade compliance.
Ensure site level activities across OEM and TS&I are compliant with policy and regulation and provide proactive, solution-oriented, operational guidance and internal customer support as necessary to facilitate compliant business transactions.
Support corporate initiatives and projects and routinely communicate with corporate trade compliance leadership to ensure effective program execution at sites.
Proactively identify risks and compliance challenges that may arise and develop and monitor metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor the overall health of trade activities.
Responsible for working as a liaison between business operations including but not limited to Contracts, Business Development, HR, Engineering and trade compliance functions such as Customs, Licensing and Traffic when necessary.
Lead investigations and disclosures for the OEM and TS&I businesses in coordination with trade compliance management.
Participate in trade audit preparation activities and work with trade compliance site leads to drive consistency, where possible, in operating procedures.
Address trade compliance questions from the business as they arise.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher required.
10 + years of relevant experience in export controls in high technology, defense or semiconductor environments.
Expert in ITAR and EAR regulations with experience in Customs Regulations, Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Sanctions, Boycott Requirements, Dual Use and Multilateral Control Regimes.
Knowledge of how to perform and review jurisdiction and classification determinations for export purposes.
Previous experience in a similar capacity with a high tech/defense firm with large volumes and licensing agreements.
Able to review and approve contracts from a trade compliance perspective.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint).
Prior experience with SAP, OCR, GTS and Conga.
Strong leadership skills with a willingness to engage with the business, create new ideas, and be assertive.
Able to serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
Able to constructively work under pressure when faced with multiple deadlines and workloads; able to make sound and timely business decisions.
Able to work independently and constructively with minimal supervision.

Salary Range:
$174,900.00-$234,740.000Pay Transparency
