Job Summary
Seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Trade Compliance Specialist to focus on Country-of-Origin determination and compliance. This role is crucial for assessing and verifying the country of origin for various products, particularly those related to imports from Nogales, Mexico.
Key Responsibilities
Assess and verify the country of origin for products, with a specific emphasis on Nogales US-related imports. Conduct thorough analyses of product documentation to accurately determine country of origin. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting and adherence to trade regulations. Research and interpret relevant laws, regulations, and trade agreements affecting country of origin determinations. Prepare detailed reports and documentation to support compliance efforts and origin determinations. Maintain accurate records of origin determinations and related correspondence. Provide guidance and training to staff on best practices for country-of-origin determination. Stay updated on changes in trade laws and regulations that may impact country of origin assessments.
Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in international business, Logistics, Customs and International Trade Compliance, LCB or relevant Customs Related Certificate Programs. Minimum of 3 years of experience in trade compliance, with a focus on country-of-origin determination. Strong knowledge of U.S. trade regulations, customs laws, and trade agreements, especially those relevant to Mexico. Experience conducting compliance reviews, particularly in manufacturing or logistics environments. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with trade compliance software is a plus. Ability to travel to Nogales, Mexico for compliance reviews as needed.
