We are looking for a talented attorney to manage cutting-edge international trade legal work in support of our Consumer and Operations businesses.
In this role, you will be responsible for counseling Amazon businesses on a broad range of regulatory and commercial matters, with a focus on global regulations governing imports and exports. You will provide day-to-day advice on trade regulations, and advise on emerging regulatory and enforcement trends to help shape Amazon's trade compliance policies and programs. You will work on complex and high-stakes global trade issues affecting current and future business models and technologies at Amazon. Businesses you support will seek your counsel and strategic advice to grow and move selection to our global stores and customers. The successful candidate will possess the ability to work efficiently and independently; manage high volumes of tasks and projects with little guidance; react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require a quick response or turnaround; take effective action without having to know the total picture; and think creatively and be proactive in solving problems. The candidate will also be client-service oriented, have great attention to detail while still meeting tight deadlines, have great organization skills, and have the ability to easily switch gears. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about technology, enjoy being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment, even in ambiguous situations. A high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information, as well as the ability to work well with people at all levels inside and outside the company, is essential.
This position can be based in Arlington, VA, Seattle, WA, or New York City, NY.
